I LOVE the Upper West Side. Hands down, it's my favorite part of Manhattan. A few years ago, I was on a huge You've Got Mail obsession that surprisingly hasn't died out. I can always go for a "bouquet of newly sharpened pencils". If you've seen the movie, you know that it's set in New York City's Upper West Side. The charming brownstones, local bookstore, cafe, flower stands, street carnival, and neighborhood grocery store make the viewer want to imagine that this whimsical world is a reality somewhere. Let me tell you, the reality is the Upper West Side.
I think one of the greatest things about this neighborhood is feeling more like a local than a tourist. The streets are quieter and the people actually live here!
So, here are a few of our favorite places in case you have the itch to visit a real life movie set.
